Hi everyone
I am in Australia and have a 2020 4wd V6 Sprinter which I have converted to a motorhome and love it .
However it has developed a knocking/ticking noise in the transfer case during a recent trip through the centre of Australia's red centre.
The n Oise seems to be related to the front output shaft and occurs every 1.25 turns .
Oberaigner are not willing to sell parts and have directed me to Mercedes who will only sell a complete new transfer case which is very disappointing.
Does any one on the forum know where internal parts , gears , bearings , chains , selectors etc can be sourced directly preferably new but if not then used ?
Also a workshop manual for the transfer case
It is the 2 speed High/low selectable 4WD system .
Thanks in advance
Chris

Re: Transfer case issue
Hi Chris,
you might have more luck in the English- speaking Sprinter-Source forum: https://sprinter-source.com/forums/index.php, they have a subforum dedicated to the VS30 4x4.

Re: Transfer case issue
Can you specify whether the noise is very noticeable at a certain speed? Or do you hear it all the time? Does it sound like a "wu-wu-wu" or like a constant, grinding noise? I've been bothered for months by a noise I can't pinpoint. The front wheel bearings have already been replaced, and the noise is still there, loudest at 50 km/h. Above that speed, it disappears.
